Goals

  • To have a digital environment for therapist and patient/s to interact based on an arranged treatment plan

  • The application can scale in health-care environments in different parts of the world (Vietnam being the first one)

Background and strategic fit

The rehabilitation project, funded by the USAID, started in October 2015 and is expected to last for 8 years (until September 2023). The project's goal is to improve quality of life of persons with brain lesions, especially those with brain stroke, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy and/or spina bifida/hydrocephalus, by improving access and quality of rehabilitation services. In order to do so, the project develops 4 main approaches:

  • Strengthening of rehabilitation service delivery

  • Building Human Resources’ capacities and skills.

  • Strengthening governance and networking

  • Improving awareness among general population and local authorities on home accessibility and independent living

HI - Telerehabilitation Application aims to satisfy the is the first objective of strengthening of rehabilitation service delivery. The app is a combination of 3 modules that interact with each other to serve the purpose of helping therapists and patients on rehabilitation treatment.

First module is Web App for Back-end Admin, where the team from Human and Inclusion can manage the therapists and provide the library content to support therapists create helpful treatment for patients.

Second module is Web App for Therapist where he can manage his own patients and arrange a treatment plan for them from the library content of Human and Inclusion. The therapists can also monitor the rehabilitation progress of patients and make direct contact via message and call.

Last module is Patient Mobile App, which is designed as easy as it could to help patients follow the treatment plan given by the therapist. It also supports patients to make contact with therapists by message or call.

Assumptions

  • We must use the existing design from the customer: Figma

  • Data across countries/location are not shared

  • Mobile app has support for offline and data saving features

  • Device list and mobile operating system support list is to be provided by HI Vietnam
