OpenTeleRehab is an open source, multidisciplinary telerehabilitation software connecting rehabilitation professionals with service users to improve access to rehabilitation services and contribute to universal health coverage by facilitating discharge, transition of care and follow-up. The software allows its users to access tailor-made rehabilitation treatment plans adapted to a variety of conditions. It enables rehabilitation professionals to provide continued support and follow-up via chat or video communication, including plan adherence and goal achievement tracking.
The OpenTeleRehab application is a combination of 3 different modules that interact with each other. The system aims to have a digital environment for therapists and patients to interact based on an arranged treatment plan. The first module is a web application for Administrators to manage contents, users and system settings. The second module is a web application for Therapists to manage patient accounts, design treatment plans, set up appointments and organize communication. The third module is a mobile application for patients to access tailor-made treatment plans and get in contact with therapists for consultations.
A satellite open acccess access web app, OpenTeleRehab Library, allows the rehabilitation community and peers public to access, review and contribute to and build a global telerehabilitation clinical library of contents (Exercises, Information and Education Materials and Questionnaires).

The Therapist Portal allows therapists to manage their patients and facilitate the creation of treatment plans. The portal allows a therapist to create their own exercises, education materials and questionnaires for their patient and also copy existing content available in the library. The therapists can also monitor the rehabilitation progress of patients and make direct contact via message, voice, and video calls. The portal supports patient information management and appointment management.

The Patient Mobile App is designed to allow patients to access the treatment plan designed by the therapist. It displays the scheduled activities for the day. The activities are shown as easy-to-read cards that include exercises with pictures and instructions, questionnaires and feedback forms, and education and information materials that the patient can access. It also supports chat and call features that allow the patients to be in contact with their therapists. Patients can also manage their appointments with their therapist.

The OpenTeleRehab Library is a satellite open-access platform where telerehabilitation clinical contents (Exercises, Education Materials and Questionnaires) are made publicly available. These resources are categorized into different subjects and can be filtered by these categories. Users that visit the platform Visitors of the Library can access, review and create submit new clinical contents. A moderation mechanism allows to ensure quality of the clinical contents made on the platformcontent. Submitted clinical content(s) (Exercises, Education Materials and Questionnaires) are reviewed by a team of moderators. Once approved, the submitted clinical content(s) can be seen on the website.
